The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Explained

5/6/2014

The HERGA seminar for May is on the very important subject of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), which is used as a standardised test for determining proficiency in the English language for non-native speakers. It is used extensively in higher education to ensure our international students are well prepared for  the academic tasks they will be expected to complete in our courses.

What are the English language capabilities of our international students? Philip Lewis (UniSA) is the administrator of IELTS exams at UniSA and will be able to provide us with an answer to this as well as helping us understand IELTS and its use.
